Privacy Policy

Effective July 14, 2026

1. What we collect

  • Account info: name, email, password hash, role (driver or company).
  • Driver verification: CDL number, issuing state, expiration, and any documentation you upload for verification.
  • Company verification: USDOT/MC number, legal business name, authorized contact.
  • Content: reviews, ratings, reports, and comments you post.
  • Payment info: processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Technical data: IP address, device/browser type, and basic usage logs for security and abuse prevention.

2. How we use it

  • To verify driver and carrier identity.
  • To operate the Platform (accounts, reviews, dashboards, search).
  • To process subscription payments through Stripe.
  • To prevent fraud, spam, harassment, and abuse.
  • To send account and service emails. We do not send marketing without opt-in.

3. What is public

Reviews, ratings, and company profile information are publicly visible. Your CDL number, email, password, and payment details are never shown publicly. You choose a display name; you may post using your verified name or a driver handle.

4. Who we share data with

We share limited data with vendors who help us operate the Platform:

  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Our hosting and database provider — to store account and content data.
  • Law enforcement or courts — only when required by valid legal process.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies for login sessions and security. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

6. Data retention

We keep account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove personal identifiers within 30 days. Public reviews may remain visible in anonymized form (attributed to "former verified driver") to preserve the integrity of the review record. Payment records are retained as required by tax and accounting law.

7. Your rights

You can:

  • Access and download your data from your dashboard.
  • Correct inaccurate account info.
  • Delete your account.
  • Request removal of specific posts you authored.

Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have additional rights (access, deletion, correction, and opt-out of "sale" — which we do not do). Contact us to exercise these rights.

8. Security

Passwords are hashed. Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with row-level security. No system is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information.

9. Children

DriverCheck is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be announced on the Platform. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
